Day one is done! I can finally check that off my list of things to be nervous for. Looking back I was very nervous for the unknown. My fear had also stopped me from planning for more than just my first day. I don't know why my brain shuts down at key points, but it's the sad reality. Now I need to start planning for more than one day at a time. The students were great... I'm becoming more and more familiar with what 7th graders look like. I think it'll be a struggle for me to remember that they are in fact still working on maturing a bit. Tomorrow I am going to be helping with volleyball tryouts!! I'm pretty darn excited about that :)
Overall I think we are going to like Blanding! Good luck to all of my friends who still have their first days to check off their teaching lists! You can all do it! I know you'll be amazing!

Oh my gosh, You are so sweet! Do your kids just love you?!?! I am so glad you had a good first day. I have to tell you... I am feeling the same way as you. I have been having the hardest time planning for more than just my first day because I have been so worried about what I will be doing! It is driving me crazy! My room is barren and it makes me so worried that my students aren't going to like being there. Good luck with tryouts tomorrow! Hopefully you guys get a bunch of girls to come out to play! You will have so much fun!
