Cabo 2013 (aka Babymoon)

Since Chris and I are only going to be a family of two for so much longer, we decided to take a babymoon as Larry and Roxy coined the term last year.  We are very thankful we did!  Our tropical location was Cabo.  We were able to stay at a beautiful resort in between Cabo san Lucas and San Jose del Cabo.   If we wanted food, all we had to do was order it and charge it to the room :)  It was a dangerous resort for a pregnant woman to stay at.  The landscaping was amazing, but I didn't want to fill the blog with pictures of the resort alone.  Here is one to tide you over.  The resort is called Hacienda del Mar owned by Sheraton if you are in need of a resort in Cabo.

Our first day on the beach!

The marina at Cabo san Lucas.  I had such an amazing experience while walking around this marina.  There were so many men trying to sell boat rides to the arch that I simply started ignoring them.  After quickly saying "No gracias" to a guy, he responded with "beautiful hair amiga."  Now normally I get a few compliments about my hair but never from men so I quickly took a look.  It turned out this guy was my Hispanic male hair twin!!  Oh, it made me laugh!

Here is a great example of the beautiful landscaping.  The flowers were all in bloom and amazing!

Chris and I read that the spring time was great for whale watching.  We figured we would have to take a boat out to see any whales below the water's surface.  Instead all we had to do was stay on our resort's beach.  The whales were so active especially the babies.  It was so much fun to watch.

I took many pictures from my pregnant vantage point.  Pregnant Vantage Point #1: This is where I stayed for one entire day on the beach (it was amazing)!

We enjoyed our resort a ton because of the restaurants available.  There were four restaurants including a delicious, authentic Mexican restaurant.  It had a beautiful view!

Pregnant vantage point #2.  We would spend the day on the beach and the late afternoon swimming in the pools.  Although Chris claims that he was amazing at dunking me, I got him twice as many times as he got me.

Chris was able to get the traditional sombrero picture from Mexico. He even put on one of his special faces for the picture.

The Sea of Cortez was a little choppy at our beach so there wasn't a ton of opportunities to swim.  On one beautiful day, Chris ventured out while I took a copious amount of pictures.

Pregnant vantage point #3:  I think I spent about 2 full days in this spot alone :)

I didn't want to get sun burned so I spent much of my time covered.  Even with the sun hat and cardigan my belly was very visible.

Cabo san Lucas was such a tourist trap so we didn't go into town that often.  We decided to find a taco stand that was reviewed as being amazingly delicious and economically priced.  Gordo Lele's tacos were great.  I was even surprised that we found the place!  Chris was even happier in real life!

We found an estuary in San Jose del Cabo that was a beautiful walk.

We also toured the old mission in San Jose.  The town was by far a lot better than touristy Cabo san Lucas. It had a beautiful historical town center that was filled with delicious restaurants and art galleries.

We were able to get a beautiful picture on the beach.

On our last night we tried the nicest restaurant at the resort and enjoyed every bite!  It was right on the beach and the sunset was beautiful.

A picture of our resort and the beach.

Walking along the beach on our last day :(

We saw some black crabs on the rocks and snapped some pictures.

My mom took care of the puppies for us while we were on vacation.  I was happy to hear that City was only depressed for two days before he perked back up.  When we got home both City and Indie were extremely happy to see us.  It just melts my heart that they love us so much.  When we got back to Blanding, City was too happy to have his usual spot back on the bed.  He wouldn't budge when I plopped the suit case on top of him.  I am happy that life is back to normal for our pups even if we are not in sunny Mexico anymore.
