Observations

Today I observed other teachers again and was introduced to classroom management in a math, Spanish, and English class. They were all so different it’s amazing. The most surprising and educational experience was the English teacher. The English teacher told me afterwards that the “on level” students at the corresponding high school were 10x worse. They didn’t care about failing a class or an entire year, and most of them were already into the gang life. I haven’t been afraid of any of the students that I have met. They think they are pretty “badass” but in actuality they are 15 year olds who can’t drive. But I’m sure 17 year olds real life thugs would scare the living daylights out of me. I wish I could go observe at the high school just so I would know if I was blowing it out of proportion.

In good news, Chris got a job that will help pay the bills. It doesn’t pay much and he’ll be working for a company that I hated… that’s right Wal-mart. Chris is such a sport for doing this with me and helping me out so much. It worked out that the Wal-mart closest to us was hiring. Now we won’t have to attempt to get a student loan to try to pay for a second car. I was starting to realize that we were naïve in assuming we could make one car work in a situation like this, but it just might work out in the end. I hope Chris doesn’t get stuck with this job for a long time. Hopefully he will keep looking and find something he’ll love…either that or go back to school!

What an awful experience in that class of disrespectful kids. I sometimes wonder why we got rid of corporal punishment in schools. *wink-wink*

P.S. For word verification Google is asking me to type "pootypor." Sounds dirty!
